To follow up on the first regional workshop in this series of workshops, held in Beirut, Lebanon, from 2 to 7 May 2011, a second regional workshop was held in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman, from 27 to 30 August 2012.

The workshop focused on the identification of appropriate national targets and indicators and their integration into revised and updated NBSAPs, as well as stakeholder engagement and the development of country-specific plans for mobilizing financial resources for the implementation of NBSAPs. It was organized by the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity, in collaboration with the UNEP Regional Office for West Asia (UNEP-ROWA), the Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman, the League of Arab States, and the Biodiversity Indicators Partnership.
