The GEF-5 biodiversity strategy reflects the four-year framework of COP program priorities developed at COP-9 and includes refinements to previous GEF investment strategies based on advances in conservation practice and advice from the GEF’s Scientific and Technical Advisory Panel. The side event includes a presentation on the strategy and a question and answer session with GEF Secretariat about the new strategy and the opportunities it provides for GEF-eligible countries to meet their obligations under the CBD.
