I am pleased to inform you that in the context of the implementation of the plan and strategy for the 2010 International Year of Biodiversity, the Secretariat has launched the International Year of Biodiversity (IYB) on Facebook. Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) as well as all the partners are encouraged to become fans of the IYB and invite friends to contribute to raising public awareness of the need to protect life on earth by using the following link: www.cbd.int/2010/facebook.
