ACTIVITES HELD IN CUBA TO MARK
THE INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR BIOLOGICAL DIVERSITY

Se firmó el Acuerdo ratificando a Cuba como sede de la VI Conferencias de las Partes del Convenio de Desertificación, con la presencia de Excelentísimo Señor Hamma Arba Diallo, Secretario Ejecutivo de la Convención.
Se estrenó un Spot televisivo sobre la conservación a la diversidad biológica.
Se inauguró una exposición de fotografía y video en el Museo Nacional de Historia Natural titulada "Imagen de la Naturaleza".
Se realizó una Conferencia de Prensa para promocionar el Día Mundial de la Diversidad Biológica y dar a conocer la Provincia Sede del Día Mundial del Medio Ambiente, que le correspondió a la provincia de Cienfuegos.

An agreement was signed ratifying Cuba as the host country for the Sixth Session of Conference of the Parties to the Convention to Combat Desertification with the presence of Mr. Hamma-Arba Diallo, Executive Secretary of the Convention.
A TV spot was launched about the conservation of biological diversity.
A photograph exhibition and a video was shown in the National Museum of Natural History entitled “Image of Nature”.
A Press Conference was organized to promote the International Day for Biological Diversity. It was also announced that the Host Province for the International Day for the Environment is Cienfiuegos.
