Capitals Hub Canada’s overarching objective is to mainstream the inclusion of natural, human, and social capital in decision-making across the public and private sectors. Capitals Hub Canada’s operational objectives are to:
- Support and strengthen the adoption and harmonization of non-financial capital accounting and reporting across Canada and within the Americas
- Create new, and strengthen existing, enabling environments for regional and national-level initiatives to help businesses implement capitals assessments, reporting, and mitigation of impacts.
- Support the creation of tools, frameworks, and networks to empower all relevant stakeholders in the co-creation of pan-supply chain reporting frameworks.
Capitals Hub Canada believes organizations make better informed decisions by understanding their impacts and dependencies on all forms of capital. This enables a resilient Canadian economy by strengthening the social fabric and natural world that economic and financial systems depend on. As a federally registered not-for-profit, the structure consists of a Board of Directors, a Steering Committee, and an Executive Director. The Board provides active guidance to the Executive Director on a weekly basis, and the Steering Committee is leveraged for feedback on specific initiatives and for dissemination of key information. Currently there are no fees to join Capitals Hub Canada as a member of our community of practice. Capitals Hub Canada is currently seeking funding partners who will receive recognition and other privileges in exchange for annual funding contributions. However, this does not impact general membership.
