The Australian Business and Biodiversity Initiative (ABBI) was formed on 19 February 2014. The ABBI is an alliance of organisations and individuals from business, government, academia and civil society. ABBI members are committed to exploring and promoting the integration of biodiversity and ecosystem service conservation and sustainability into business policies and practices in Australia.
ABBI's mission is twofold: to raise awareness of biodiversity and ecosystem services loss and degradation as a critical risk and opportunity for Australian Business; and to support the development of practical solutions that integrate consideration of biodiversity and ecosystem services into business decision-making and ultimately improve the health and resilience of the Australian environment and economy.
