Work with NBSAP Forum-Global Partnership for NBSAP Support

The NBSAP Forum, a partnership between the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Environment Programme World Conservation Monitoring Centre (UNEP-WCMC), and the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (SCBD), was established early in 2013 to support countries in developing and implementing effective National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans (NBSAPs). BirdLife International, the Fridtjof Nansen Institute, the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN), the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Rare, and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) also formally became NBSAP Forum partners. These organizations helped to identify and share emerging resources and best practices in the revision and implementation of NBSAPs. In addition, the NBSAP Forum partners developed key resources such as the NBSAP Peer Review Framework and contributed to the review of numerous post-2010 NBSAPs, providing guidance and support to national NBSAP practitioners and technical experts.

The web portal of the Forum serves as a community of practice among stakeholders and NBSAP national practitioners.
