There are many sources of risks facing pastoralists in Mongolia including damaging snow conditions, extreme cold weather, drought, floods, fire, wildlife-livestock conflicts, animal theft and social conflicts, disease and market failures. Risk management projects include sustainable rangeland management, the development of local land management plans, developing ecological methods for rodent control, and participatory monitoring of vegetation conditions. |
