Aviornis International Netherlands
AVIORNIS INTERNATIONAL brings together devoted breeders of non-passerine birds. It is one of the most important organisations in Europe in its field with around 8.000 members in 6 European countries. Approximately 625 bird species are successfully kept by our members.
The objectives of Aviornis International are:
  • To support and co-operate with other organisations on scientific programs to preserve bird species that have become nearly extinct.
  • To stimulate (inter)national exchange of young birds in order to keep genetically healthy stocks of each species.
  • To help our members with advice and information on the husbandry and breeding management of the wide diversity of bird species.
  • To contribute, together with other international organisations, to scientific programs, aimed at the re-introduction of bird species that have become (locally) extinct due to natural catastrophes or other reasons.

Biodiversity Quickscan (VBDO and CREM)
Dutch organization of investors for sustainable development. Developed a tool that uses a number of steps to quickly measure the biodiversity impact of a company in order to gather information to inform a dialogue with the companies. Developed for the financial and food sectors.

Corpus Acrobatics is a well established acrobatic theatre company based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, that has been staging spectacular acrobatic shows all over the world for more than fifteen years on various prestigious festivals and theatres such as; World Expo in Lisbon (Portugal), Sensation (Australia) and the Festival de Cannes (France).

European Association of Zoos and Aquaria
The European Association of Zoos and Aquaria is the largest zoo and aquarium association in the world, with 326 members in 36 countries. It provides membership services and leadership to those zoos and aquaria, promoting the association mission aims of conservation, education and research. EAZA members receive 140 million visitors a year. Since the year 2000 EAZA has coordinated European-wide conservation campaigns on a range of topics including the plight of apes, tigers, rhinos, and chelonians. It has also focused on the complexities of European carnivores and their existence in a crowded continent. Additionally the geographic areas of the Atlantic Coastal Forest in Brazil and Madagascar have been dedicated campaigns. To date more than 4 million Euro has been raised via the campaigns for in situ conservation of biodiversity. In addition EAZA coordinates 342 ex situ conservation breeding programmes. EAZA members formally teach more than 5 million European children a year about biodiversity.

European Association of Zoos and Aquaria
EAZA’s mission is to facilitate cooperation within the European zoo and aquarium community towards the goals of education, research and conservation.

  Our conservation activities and those of our members are underscored by our shared commitment to the preservation of biodiversity. We work closely with many other agencies, including WAZA and IUCN, to ensure that we can leverage the expertise and resources of our community towards achieving the furtherance of wildlife conservation, through internationally coordinated breeding programmes of wild animals and in situ conservation.

The realization of a feature film is an art and a fascinating creative process. Meanwhile a film is a great opportunity to set out a message over a period of several years. Firenze Film BV focuses exclusively on the development and production of English spoken feature films and television productions for a wide international audience. This is preferably based on original scripts, in cooperation with reliable national and international partners, and a maximum participation of local creative industries. For ‘Where the road runs out’ there is a partnership with the Bioko Biodiversity Protection Program (Equatorial Guinea), Cocoa Abrabopa, Original Beans and SOS Children’s Villages. Release is expected in Spring, 2013.

Green Fudge/Environmental blog is a non-profit, privately funded organization, which aims to present the latest and most accurate information on global environmental issues. The website’s objective is to stimulate discussions regarding issues that affect everyone. It is a place where people from all over the world, all genders, origins, and orientations, from all levels of society can let their voice be heard on matters that impact the world we live in. / streeft ernaar de meest recente en correcte informatie over wereldwijde milieuproblemen beschikbaar te maken voor een zo groot mogelijk publiek. Het doel van de website is het stimuleren van discussies over onderwerpen die iedereen aangaan. Het is een plek waar mensen van over de hele wereld, alle geslachten, rassen en geaardheden, uit alle lagen van de samenleving hun stem kunnen laten horen.

Happy Stones
The mission of the non-profit organization Happy Stones, is to preserve the ancient craft of dry stone walling, to raise awareness of the importance to preserve, and to rebuild these walls. Dry stone walls form a microclimate for more than 200 species, from whom many on the red list for endangered species. They offer a huge biodiversity function, but many walls are vanished. A group of volunteers (included a Swiss specialist) started a website, as a basis to work from. With training courses for youngsters and adults, presence on fairs, and starting on microscale building walls, Happy Stones is raising consciousness and awereness that we still can restore the damage done.

Harteman Wildfowl
Harteman Wildfowl is an online source of information since 1998, celebrating aviculture and bird conservation. The new website (since 2012) includes photo-pages, multimedia and social media applications to propagate the world of bird conservation, both in-situ and ex-situ.

Leaders for Nature (IUCN)
Overall Mandate: Leaders for Nature was founded in 2005 by the IUCN National Committee of the Netherlands (IUCN NL), the platform for the 38 IUCN members based in the Netherlands. IUCN is the world’s oldest and largest global environmental network. Leaders for Nature is the IUCN NL business network of twenty multinationals and major Dutch enterprises working together on greening the economy.


Business and Biodiversity Programme:The network focuses on biodiversity and ecosystems as part of wider sustainability and business policies. In addition, IUCN, the Confederation of Indian Industry, the Wildlife Trust of India and Hivos are working closely together with Indian business leaders to establish Leaders for Nature in India. Leaders for Nature in India will inspire the Indian business community to recognise the value of biodiversity for their core business.

The Sustainability Consortium is a global organization dedicated to improving the sustainability of consumer products. Members and partners include manufacturers, retailers, suppliers, service providers, NGOs, civil society organizations, governmental agencies and academics. TSC convenes these diverse stakeholders to work collaboratively to build science-based decision tools that address sustainability issues that are materially important throughout a product’s supply chain and lifecycle. TSC also offers a portfolio of services to help drive effective implementation. The Sustainability Consortium is jointly administered by Arizona State University and University of Arkansas with additional operations at Wageningen University in The Netherlands and Tianjin, China.
