The Friends of Snakes Society is an Indian non-profit organization dedicated to the protection of, and public education about, snakes. With the help of Andhra Pradesh Forest Department, the Friends of Snakes Society has been rescuing snakes from urban areas and rehabilitating them in reserve forest areas and attempting to generate a system of alternate, natural pest control using non venomous snakes in farming. Grow-Trees is a social enterprise dedicated to the Planet on World Environment Day, June 5, 2010. Government of Gujarat has established Gujarat Biodiversity Board (GBB) in the year 2006 vide its notification no. GVN/2006/8/WLP/2003/177/G1; dated: 11/05/2006 under section 22 of the Act. The International Center for Integrated Mountain Development, ICIMOD, is a regional intergovernmental learning and knowledge sharing centre serving the eight regional member countries of the Hindu Kush Himalayas – Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, India, Myanmar, Nepal, and Pakistan – and based in Kathmandu, Nepal. The mission of the center is to enable and facilitate the equitable and sustainable well-being of the people of the Hindu Kush-Himalayas by supporting sustainable mountain development through active regional cooperation. Prakriti Bachao Foundation (PBF), a non-government organization was established by a group of young activists, farmers, researchers and educationist. The organization came into existence during the research work of Shakeelur Rahman. Mr. Rahman was doing his Ph.D. on the evaluation of indigenous rice germplasm. During his frequent field visit he observed that the indigenous/traditional germplasm are diminishing rapidly. He felt that the conservation of genetic resources is very important for the survival of living beings. The organization started its work by community mobilization and group formation in the rural areas. The basic issues of the community mobilization and group formation were food & livelihood security through biodiversity conservation, sustainable environment, natural resource management and skill development.

In recent past we have observed that our urban areas are losing their most important assets trees. There are numbers of reasons behind this loss and some of the factors are raising urban population therefore more land required to build homes, lack of awareness about trees and their usefulness, lack of planning and execution from government and local bodies. Fewer trees mean more pollution, less rain and climate change. Citing above situation we bunch of friends decided to do something and started a Prakrutti Foundation. Prakrutti Foundation is a charitable organization. We are working toward mission of planting more trees in urban areas.
