Grange-Verney et Marcelin sont des centres de congrès et hébergent de nombreuses associations professionnelles.

Biodiversity Monitoring Switzerland (BDM) is a long-term programme launched by Switzerland’s federal government to record the country’s biological diversity. As it is impossible to record biodiversity in its entirety, BDM makes do with 33 indicators. For financial reasons, BDM taps existing data sources to compute the majority of its indicators. However, the programme has also started to make its own surveys of select animal and plant species groups all over Switzerland. BDM has established two nationwide sampling networks.

This compilation renders the book an important contribution to the UN International Year of Biodiversity through its understanding of biodiversity, research into natural scents and the reconstitution of endangered floral species.

The "Naturgruppe Salix" is a local, non-commercial organization of people, based in Bronschhofen, Switzerland, who are interested in nature and environment. It carries out one to three events monthly, such as field trips, hikes, lectures, nature conservation campaigns, convivial events and handicraft courses, according to the slogan "experiencing nature - with head, hands, and heart". By promoting interest, understanding and respect for nature in the public at large and especially in children, the organization wants to contribute to a sustainable development of our society. In 2010, the “Naturgruppe Salix” organizes a number of events focusing on different aspects of biodiversity.

The Convention's mission is "the conservation and wise use of all wetlands through local, regional and national actions and international cooperation, as a contribution towards achieving sustainable development throughout the world". The Convention uses a broad definition of the types of wetlands covered in its mission, including swamps and marshes, lakes and rivers, wet grasslands and peatlands, oases, estuaries, deltas and tidal flats, near-shore marine areas, mangroves and coral reefs, and human-made sites such as fish ponds, rice paddies, reservoirs, and salt pans.
