Submission of views on a draft resource manual for achieving Target 2 of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework

The draft resource manual titled “Delivering restoration outcomes for biodiversity and human wellbeing through Target 2 of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework” has been jointly prepared by the CBD Secretariat, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and Society for Ecological Restoration (SER), with the financial and technical  support the Korea Forest Service of the Republic of Korea and its Forest Ecosystem Restoration Initiative, the United Nations Decade on Ecosystem Restoration supported by the International Climate Initiative of Germany, and the AIM4Forests programme supported by the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

The manual builds from input collected during a workshop co-hosted by FAO, CBD Secretariat and United Nations Environment Programme, from 22-24 November 2023, in Rome, Italy. The draft manual will be further revised on the basis of comments and suggestions received via the present review process, and a final version will be made available for the sixteenth meeting of the COP later this year.

Parties, other Governments, indigenous peoples and local communities, and relevant organizations and stakeholders are invited to review the draft resource manual which is available here. Guiding questions are provided together with the manual to help frame your comments. Comments should be sent by e-mail to secretariat@cbd.int as soon as possible but no later than 10 June 2024
