- Title: Grasping the value of nature: BIODIVERSITY ACTION DAYS for multi-stakeholder CEPA
Organized by: BMU GTZ
Date and Time: Friday 22 October at 13:15pm – 15:00pm
Venue: CEPA Fair, First Floor, Building 2 Room 216 A
"How to promote public awareness of what biodiversity does for humans?" – "Choose an ecosystem and invite scientists, public authorities, diverse groups of lay people and the media for a hands-on exploration of its biodiversity and the values it generates."
This was the approach of the global Biodiversity Action Days project in 2010, initiated by the German Federal Ministries for the Environment (BMU) and for Economic Co-operation and Development (BMZ), together with GEO reportage magazine.
People and organizations in 38 countries participated with a broad variety of events. The result is a global mosaic that illustrates the significance of intact ecosystems for human well-being. At the same time, it is a promising example of multi-stakeholder CEPA.
Reports, photos and a video are on display throughout COP 10 at the CEPA Fair and at
