The
first Global Thematic Dialogue for Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities on the Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework took place from 17-18 November 2019 and reflected on the results of the first meeting of the open-ended Working Group on the post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework and the regional consultations.
The
second Global Thematic Dialogue for Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities on the Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework will serve as an opportunity for indigenous peoples and local communities (IPLCs) to reflect on the recent development of the post-2020 global biodiversity framework, including the zero draft and the monitoring framework. IPLCs’ key messages, developed in the second Thematic Dialogue, will contribute to the process of the framework, under the vision of the Convention, living in harmony with nature, by 2050.
The second Thematic Dialogue is scheduled to take place virtually on 1, 2 and 3 December 2020, starting at 8:00 am to 10: 00 am (Montreal time UTC-5).
IPLCs’ organization are invited to register as a participant to the second Global Thematic Dialogue, please send an official letter of nomination, addressed to the CBD Executive Secretary, scanned attachment, by email to:
secretariat@cbd.int or by fax at +1 514-288-6588, by 27 November 2020.
Open sessions will be broadcast on www.cbd.int/live in English, the Spanish recording will be posted on the same link as soon as the session is over.
December 1 - The opening of the Dialogue is a public session, from 8 to 9.30 am. (broadcast).
December 2 - Closed session (not broadcast).
December 3 - The presentation of results and closing are public sessions, from 9:05 to 10.00 (broadcast).
