On 22 May, mountain kishacks (villages) near the Chatkalsky Reserve celebrated the International Day for Biological Diversity by holding special seminars to develop scenarios, objectives and methods for future IBD celebrations. These seminars were conducted under the project “Conservation of Biodiversity of Western Tien-Shan.”

The IBD materials provided by the Secretariat were translated into the Uzbek language and published with the aid of the State Committee for Nature Protection.
