The Initiative for Biodiversity Studies in Arid Regions (IBSAR) – University of Beirut (AUB), with the Chemistry Department, USFC, Chemistry Student Society (CSS) and Biology Student Society (BSS), celebrated the International Day for Biological Diversity with a poster forum, to highlight the important contributions that AUB faculty and students are making towards biodiversity conservation and climate change.

All departments and clubs involved in biodiversity/nature conservation were invited to participate. The posters, which were showcased on 22 May in front of AUB West Hall, were separated into three categories:

• Chem216 and Chem206 posters, under the theme of “Bioprospecting”
• Research contributions from research assistants and faculties
• Artistic contributions related to biodiversity and nature conservation

All participants were awarded a participation certificate, and prizes were awarded to three student posters and one research assistant poster. The forum was followed by a small reception.
