Estonia

The Estonian Ministry of the Environment organized a seminar to commemorate IBD. Participants included, primary and secondary school biology and geography teachers, as well as students of Tallinn Technical University. The seminar incorporated lectures on climate change, the UNFCCC, obligations and activities of Estonia regarding implementation of the UNFCCC, and connections between climate change and biodiversity. The CBD materials were distributed during the seminar. The Ministry also published a CD that was sent to schools throughout Estonia, which includes documents such as the CBD IBD booklet, a brochure on European Union Action Against Climate Change and Estonia’s 4th National Communication under the framework of the UNFCCC. The CD also included links to several websites on climate change and a link to a Climate Change Game.
