Countdown 2010 (IUCN) encouraged its partners to celebrate IBD by holding activities that focused on this year’s theme: biodiversity and climate change. The organization invited partners to take this opportunity to inform the media about Countdown 2010 and their activities within the network, and to send a news release to their media distribution list on 21 May 2007. In addition, they suggested that partners hold events on the International Day for Biodiversity (22 May), such as guided tours of natural sites and the installation of energy efficient light bulbs in the town hall. Countdown 2010 also displayed a link to the Secretariat’s IBD webpage on their website.
