On 22 May, Mr. Iván Zambrana, Head of the Biodiversity Department of the Ministry of Urban Development, issued a statement calling the population of Bolivia to be aware of the importance of biodiversity and climate change, and the potential impacts that can occur in the green spaces of the country.

Mr. Zambrana reminded the public that biodiversity loss is one of the most worrying aspects of the current ecological crisis, and it is a problem that everyone must face together.

In collaboration with “la Asociación Prodefensa de la Naturaleza and la Liga de Defensa del Medio Ambiente (LIDEMA),” the Biodiversity Department, organized a seminar on 22 May, which including a presentation on the present status of biodiversity in Bolivia and a discussion on policies for the sustainable use and conservation of the country’s biological resources.
