Description This guide describes the application of Strategic Environmental Assessment 
(SEA) to Water Use in Individual Catchments. It describes the purpose of SEA, and explains how to carry out and use an SEA. The Guide is based on the experience gained in undertaking a Pilot SEA for the Mhlathuze Catchment in KwaZulu-Natal, as part of a three-year research contract sponsored jointly by the Department of Water Affairs and Forestry, and by the British Government’s Department for International Development.
