Notre Dame University 20-30 May 2013, Zouk Mosbeh The Faculty of Natural & Applied Sciences (FNAS), in close partnership with the faculty of Architecture, Art & Design and the Faculty of Engineering, is organizing a series of interfaculty events between May 20 and 30, 2013, to celebrate the International Day for Biological Diversity (IDB).
Cultural Landscapes is NDU's theme for this year’s event. The event aims at raising awareness on the importance of the protection of Biological Diversity within the context of the existing close relationship between ecological and social systems. The interactions between both systems form what we term “Cultural Landscapes”.
In this light, FNAS launched photography, drawing, and poster competitions for students in November 2012. An orientation session for those participating in the competitions was held in January 2013. A series of seminars will be held from May 20 to 30, 2013. Keynote speakers will be invited to give talks about the various aspects of cultural landscapes as well as natural and built environments.
